Up, Up and Up.
What’s the first thing you do when you baby starts to crawl ?
You move every small/dangerous thing below waist height to above waist height. Or in other words, you take everything from the “baby floor” and move it to the “adults floor”.
My otherwise beautifully decorated house now looks like a blind designer decorated it. Pretty much nothing is in “it’s” right place.
I don’t care. The main point is to give my son freedom to crawl around, stand up by holding on to things, mess around with things on the shelves, open the drawers and let him develop by “researching” everything, without always running after him to take things out of his hand or mouth.
And I have to say he loves it. He’ll be crawling all over the house, looking at every thing, holding it, throwing it on the floor, looking at me (to see if I say anything) and then getting back to his business.
If I sit next to him, he’ll do one of 2 things:
- One-by-one throw things on the floor
- One-by-one give them to me
He’ll give them to me, ill put it back, and then he’ll grab it again and give it to me. And we can go on until I get tired, because he won’t.
One bad thing about his crawling is though, that he’ll tire me out in no time. To be honest, I’m a bit worried about when he starts to walk/run. I think Papa needs to loose some weight, I better shift some of the responsibility over to him…

I agree with you. My little girl was also given the freedom to crawl around the house when she was just starting learning on how to crawl. I say, it is good for the baby to give him the enough space to learn and practice his motor skills.
