Middle Ear Infection - Follow Up
The specialist suggested that we put small piece of wood blocks under junior bed to keep his head slightly higher than the rest of his body. This would help in draining the fluid from his middle ear into his throat.
After a month we took junior back to the specialist…
The specialist checked him and said that the ears looked fine, the fluid was gone. It was like a big stone being lifted off my heart. I was so worried about the treatment where a drain is surgically fitted in the eardrum. Just thinking about it scared me a lot, especially when Junior is so tiny and fragile. To read more about the treatment please see my previous post.
Thank God, it solved it self. I can only advise other Mamas & Papas to put something under Junior’s bed so it’s slightly tilted, so his/her head is slightly elevated. This helps the fluid to run down into the throat and away from the middle ear.
It’s a pretty common problem in young children, but I cannot explain with words how relieved I am.
